Getting to know Javonne Darling

Mr. Darling is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving the Atlanta metropolitan area. He earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and Marketing from Marshall University and a master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Additionally, he holds an Education Specialist degree from Valdosta State University and has over 20 years of experience as a counselor. Mr. Darling understands that starting therapy can be a daunting task, especially if you don't feel ready. He views therapy as a collaborative process that helps clients increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives, reduce symptoms, and build personal strength for a more meaningful life experience. Using an eclectic therapeutic approach, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mr. Darling truly believes therapy is for everyone, but not every therapist is the right fit for every client. Therefore, he encourages open communication throughout the therapy process to help clients best overcome their obstacles.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy might feel intimidating if you have never seen a therapist before. There are several reasons to see a therapist. Many people seek help because they are facing a difficult life challenge and want to benefit from a professional’s guidance and support. Above all, you should expect a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, empathetic, and safe (no judgment). No issue is too big or too small to ask for support. Common issues that people seek therapy for are grief and loss, communication and relationships issues, work and career issues, stress, anxiety and depression. You and the therapist decide what you want and/or need to achieve from the counseling. The therapist/client relationship is an equal partnership. My role as a therapist is to offer you insights into your experiences, advice on how to handle issues, and evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
