Psychotherapist
930 Cambria St Ne, Ste 110, Christiansburg, VA
Hi there, I'm Jayna! Welcome! My name is Jayna Gillespie, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (0701008578) in Virginia. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree from Radford University. My focus areas of practice include healing from traumatic experiences, adoption and blended family dynamics, and processing life transitions. My approach to therapy is determined based on the needs of the participant and is personally tailored to ensure the best therapeutic experience. I frequently utilize modalities such as motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and trauma-focused therapy, while maintaining flexibility to adapt to each individual’s unique journey. The majority of participants I see are young adults recovering from traumatic experiences and their chosen families. I have experience working with a variety of populations, including children, families, and adults of all ages. I have supported individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and family dynamic changes such as marriage, divorce, adoption, and foster care. I work with every participant to create a comfortable environment and often view sessions as your time to share what matters most to you. I am here to provide a safe space and guidance as you navigate difficult situations. During our first session, we will cover as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. I understand that starting therapy and sharing your history with a stranger can be scary and difficult. We will also review important therapeutic information, including HIPAA and safety planning, to ensure you feel secure throughout the process.
