Some of the therapeutic methods I employ are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, and Humanistic techniques. Often, I use an eclectic approach, depending upon your needs. I like to teach relaxation methods and other useful coping tools. With substance use needs, I emphasize self-care and self-esteem. DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) prove to be helpful methods as well. Together, we can decide on the most helpful path to take. Your input and feedback are vital in the process of you becoming your best self. My focus Does your life feel overwhelming right now? Is there something that you feel uncomfortable about? Do you feel sad most of the time? Are you drinking a bit too much or spending too much money on recreational drugs? Many of my clients have substance use concerns. I also work with people who are single parents or post-partum mothers, struggling with day-to-day issues. I have also developed a subspecialty working with Veterans. Clinical depression is not too big a task. We can do it together! My communication style My most important job is to listen and make sure you feel heard. I communicate in a safe and supportive way, making sure to reflectively listen and validate that we are on the same page. Empathy and support are so essential.
