“Ms. Mazeikis is a great listener and has helped me get through a lot of rough times in my life. She has given me advice when I’ve needed and just been there for me and listened to me when I’ve needed to vent. She remembers details about me and makes my experiences seem valuable and is a sincerely great reference for helping me process difficult to explain emotions. I’m grateful to have found someone like this, that is a helpful resource whenever I need.”

Getting to know Jeanette Salter

I earned my Associate's degree from Harper College before completing my Bachelor's at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2009. Afterward, I worked in a social service position with Alzheimer's and dementia patients for three years. During this time, I discovered my passion for working with individuals and families and being a source of guidance for those who are suffering. I then pursued my Master's in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Schaumburg, graduating in 2015. I have experience conducting psychological assessments for disability claimants as well as working with outpatient populations through counseling.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My private practice background has given me the pleasure of working with a variety of ages and diagnoses in both therapy and diagnostic evaluation. Common issues that I treat include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD, trauma, intrusive thoughts, anger problems, codependency/personal boundary issues, and interpersonal distress. I use warmth, safety, and a nonjudgmental environment to help clients explore their concerns.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I also employ a variety of evidence-based techniques and skills that will help clients to overcome their obstacles. As we work together, you will develop insight into your problems, build self-awareness of attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors, grow accountable to yourself, and learn to use coping skills that will be most effective for your symptoms.

She was okay, but she didn’t read my file before our first appointment, which is a big no-no in my books! She’s a nice person and can be understanding, but she needs to be prepared, especially for our first appointment.

She is the best! Instantly it felt like I was talking with an old friend. I can't recommend her enough. I wouldn't be where I am today without her!
Jeanette is a very kind and warm counselor. She is patient with me and I never feel judged like I have with other therapists. I feel she has helped me come such a long way since we have been working together and she works at my pace. I like how she has consistent appointment times and that she communicates well with appointments and billing and all that. I also like that she is just a genuine person overall.
Jeanette is wonderful! The first time I talked to her, I could tell she is a caring, genuine therapist. I felt very comfortable talking to her, and sharing my stories. She has solid advice too. I am grateful she is my therapist.
    Best experience so far!
