Hi there, I'm Jeni! Life can be beautiful, amazing, and fulfilling. It can also include experiences and obstacles that cause us to feel sad, anxious, or angry. We may even lose hope. My name is Dr. Jeni Allissun Groot, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) whose mission is to work together with clients as they overcome those obstacles, strengthen hope, and find the joy so critical to healing and happiness. My approach My approach to counseling is holistic, incorporating diverse strategies for services as unique as each client. I have specific experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed interventions, and other methods but am grounded in a person-centered philosophy that recognizes clients as the experts in their lives and seeks to empower them to make positive changes and find joy. Importantly, I tailor therapy to clients' individual needs and circumstances. My focus I see a wide variety of clients and feel fortunate to be able to help individuals who are facing a serious crisis, struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing a major life transition, grieving a loss, dealing with complicated relationship dynamics, or who simply want to make changes that support enhanced emotional and mental wellness. I also have professional experience that has prepared me particularly well to work with youth and trauma survivors. My communication style I seek to foster an environment where clients understand I am consistently there to listen, care, and support them. I truly respect that partnering with a helping professional to find solutions and seek joy in life is an important act of trust.
