What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) with over 11 years of practice experience. I specialize in treating trauma (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder), borderline personality disorder (BPD), and anxiety disorders. I also enjoy working with a range of other concerns, including depression, mood disorders, emotion dysregulation, self-harm, anger management, narcissism, relationship concerns, life transitions, and substance use concerns. My therapy style is compassionate and direct, with particular attention paid to your emotional experience and attachment patterns. I typically combine evidence-based approaches to tailor your treatment to you. I believe that each of us has an inherent right to experience joy, establish safety, and grow into our full potential. I feel honored to support you as we explore your experience and collaborate on your treatment plan. If you have a mental health condition that may be best treated using a structured protocol, I offer dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for BPD, cognitive processing therapy (CPT) or prolonged exposure (PE) for PTSD, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for specific anxiety disorders.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our initial session is a consultation to get to know each other and decide whether working together is a good fit. Clinical assessment and/or therapy may follow the initial consultation session.
