Getting to know Jenna Van Wagner

Hi there, I'm Jenna! My name is Jenna Van Wagner, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. We live in a fast-paced, stressful, and achievement-oriented culture where we are expected to move through our lives checking off endless to-do lists. Many of us have accepted this as the norm, and we inevitably begin to see the impact of a life filled with days lived at a frantic pace. Without building in time to pause and reflect, so many of us find ourselves experiencing the painful effects of depression and anxiety. I am committed to helping people embrace mindfulness and take time to process their past and present in a safe space. I have found through my own work that being open to your past by taking time in the present can bring a greater sense of peace and self-acceptance. It is my hope to help each client build a practice of mindfulness and self-care that will support both their internal life as well as positively impact their communities. My approach I am currently participating in training for EMDR to help clients move through trauma. However, I pull from many approaches in my work, but I am client-centered with mindfulness at the core. My focus I typically work with clients who struggle with early childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety. As a licensed therapist, I am comfortable treating men and women with conditions that are holding them back from getting the most out of their lives. I have worked with women who struggle with postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. My communication style I create a calm, positive, client-centered environment. We work on finding your strengths to bring about the change you want to see in your life. My journey to therapy Mental health, self-improvement, and mindfulness are three areas I can't read enough about. I am eager to learn more to improve my own life, and in doing so, I love to help others.
