Getting to know Dr. Jennie Polizzi
No matter who you are, life is always changing-filled with challenges, transitions, doubts, and sometimes successes. This is the human experience, and you do not have to go it alone. Counseling is a valuable resource to help hone your natural talents and skills to find vision, motivation, meaning, and resolve through your choices and experiences. With the support of a professional counselor, there are no dead-end scenarios. I thoroughly believe in meeting clients where they are, treating individuals with dignity and respect no matter who they are or where they come from, and celebrating differences and individuality.
As an LPC, NCC, and Virginia Board of Clinical Counseling Supervisor, I am completing my PhD in CES. I hold an MS in CMHC, a BS in Psychology, and an AS in Social Science. I also have certifications in MHS and Advanced EMDR. I am affiliated with academic fraternities, honor societies, and community advocacy associations, and I serve on several boards.
With over 20 years of professional experience, I provide support and therapy to broad multicultural populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. I have significant experience working with marginalized populations such as military, domestic violence survivors, and LGBTQ communities. I have thorough knowledge and interest in trauma, multicultural issues, developmental concerns, and family dynamics. My background includes 10 years as a preschool and school-age provider, as well as roles in 911 dispatch, warrants, APS, CPS, CSB, Human Services, Early Head Start and Head Start. I have served as a nonprofit mental health specialist, intensive in-home therapist, outpatient psychotherapist, outpatient supervisor, outpatient manager, outpatient director, outpatient coordinator, outpatient intern supervisor, outpatient resident supervisor, and counselor master's degree instructor.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
