Getting to know Jennifer Anyaugo

You can hold everything together and still feel like you are barely holding on. You replay a conversation at 2am that happened at noon. You say yes to everything and resent all of it. You are the one everyone leans on, and you are exhausted. Jennifer Anyaugo is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with adult women across Florida on chronic anxiety and the patterns that come with it: overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the guilt of setting a boundary. Many of her clients are capable, responsible women who look fine on the outside and feel overwhelmed underneath. She also offers focused care for women healing from betrayal, narcissistic abuse, and relationship trauma, and for women going through divorce, separation, or other life changes that look fine on paper and feel like grief. Her work is trauma-informed and grounded in EMDR, CBT, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness. Rather than only managing symptoms, she helps clients get to the root of what keeps them stuck, at a pace they set. Her style is warm, collaborative, and steady, and many clients stay for longer-term work. Jennifer is a Lead Therapist at Dreavita and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. She works with adult women 18 and older in individual sessions. Your first visit is a full intake session. Sessions are held by secure video, and you need to be located in Florida at the time of your appointment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You do not need to know what is wrong before you come in. Many women tell me nothing bad happened, so why do they feel like this, and that is a completely valid place to start. In the first session I will mostly listen: what is weighing on you, what you have tried, and what you want to feel different. You will not be rushed into talking about anything painful. If EMDR might help, we build steadiness first. I will be warm, and I will also gently point out patterns I notice, like saying yes when you mean no. You set the pace, and you can tell me anytime something is not working.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After the first sessions, we set goals together. Most clients meet with me weekly. I start with practical tools for calming anxiety and overthinking, using CBT and mindfulness, so you have relief while we work on the deeper patterns. From there we look at where those patterns started. I use Internal Family Systems to understand the parts of you that people-please or brace for the worst, and EMDR to process past experiences that still shape how you react now. For betrayal or relationship trauma, we focus on rebuilding trust in your own judgment. We check in regularly on what is helping and adjust as we go.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $100 for 50 minutes
Ongoing session: $100 for 50 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
