“I was looking for a therapist who truly understood ADHD and could help me work through the nuances of dealing with it. (With my last therapist, I feel like I'd researched it more and understood it better than the therapist did, which was extremely disappointing.) Jennifer definitely fits that description, and she makes me feel seen and understood in a way that is a huge help to the therapeutic process. She listens, but she doesn't ONLY listen; she also suggests strategies and asks probing questions. (Again, I'm comparing this to my experience with my last therapist!) So our sessions don't just feel like a conversation with an empathetic friend; she provides the perspective and approach of a trained professional that can actually help me work through the stumbling blocks that have been in my way for my entire life. We started working together pretty recently, but I'm confident that Jennifer is going to help me realize some meaningful changes and growth, and I'm very appreciative of that!”

Getting to know Jennifer Erickson

Hi, its nice to meet you. I have been a therapist for a decade now. Before being a therapist, I spent 20 years in Healthcare Administration with 17 of those in management. I share this because I understand the stress that comes with the "corp" world and management. After 20 years, I decided to change careers and utilize my skills in coaching and mentoring. I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a health and wellness focused licensed professional counselor, so I spend time talking about how to balance your life, your stress, and ensure you are having some fun in your life. Therapeutically I'm very eclectic. I use different techniques based on your needs. That being said, yes, I use CBT, DBT, REBT, talk therapy, and assessments as most therapists do. My primary focus is all types of Anxiety, ADHD testing in adults, Executive Functioning, Self-Confidence, Life Changes, and Couples/Relationship Counseling. I do have a "day job" so the work I do through Grow is part time, evening and most Saturdays.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am primarily a Solution Focused therapist. That means, I tend to ask you what your goal is, where you want to be in a few months/a year from now, or what change are you looking for. While there are times that "processing" is needed. My goal is to help people move their life forward, and for that reason, I don't do a lot of long-term therapy. My goal is to have clients come in anywhere from 6 - 15 sessions and then take a break from therapy and practice all the skills.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
