Getting to know Jennifer Kolbow

My name is Jennifer Kolbow, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Corona, CA, providing telehealth services to clients throughout California. I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide. I enjoy working with families, parents, as well as children and teens individually, to reduce symptoms and improve relationships. My approach I use an eclectic, client-centered approach to tailor treatment to best meet the needs of each individual. Sometimes that looks very structured and includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Other times, a more collaborative, narrative approach helps clients externalize the problem and shift their beliefs. My focus This approach works well with children and teens struggling with anger and irritability, withdrawal and isolation, low self-esteem, and excessive worry. I also support adults navigating all stages of parenting-from infertility to postpartum to empty nesters-and all the transitions in between. My communication style I provide a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment. While we often discuss heavy material, I also incorporate humor and fun when appropriate. I will periodically ask for your feedback on what is or isn't working to help you get the most out of our time together. My journey to therapy Goal setting is a collaborative process where we identify areas that aren't going well, as well as those that are, so we can build on your previous successes and help you make meaningful improvements. My goals for you During our first session, we'll get to know each other. Some clients are ready to jump right in, while others may be new to therapy or prefer to move at a slower pace. Both styles are fine with me-I'm happy to work at your pace to help you get the most out of the process.
