Hi there, I'm Jennifer! Negative thinking can greatly impact the way a person approaches the world. With a focus on mindfulness techniques, identification of nonproductive thought patterns, and encouraging a healthy life balance, clients are better equipped to manage their symptoms and daily stressors. I graduated from Texas Woman's University in 1997 with a master's degree in Counseling. I have been practicing as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) for over 20 years in a variety of settings, including private practice, mobile crisis assessment, and working with teens in a school setting. I primarily work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, anger, family issues, and relationship issues. I focus on older teens and adults using cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques. The relationship with the client is important to me. I focus on building a trusting and productive professional relationship to help facilitate healing and growth. My approach I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions. I also encourage the use of mindfulness techniques and a healthy life balance to help regulate emotions and decrease stress and anxiety. My focus I primarily work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, anger, family issues, and relationship issues. I focus on older teens and adults using cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques. My communication style I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy. I work hard to gain your trust and help you feel comfortable in the therapy session. My goals for you Goal setting will be collaborative. It is important for me to understand why you came to counseling and what you want to achieve. With that information, we will set counseling goals together.
