Thank you for considering me as your therapist on your journey to improving your mental health! Seeking treatment can be an extremely daunting task, especially within a culture where mental health is not openly discussed. This leaves individuals struggling alone with distressing symptoms such as anxiety, stress, fear, insecurities, isolation, depression, racing thoughts, poor self-image, and many others. Without support or a safe environment to openly share these experiences, it can be overwhelming and difficult to understand how to manage these symptoms in a healthy way. This can lead to maladaptive coping skills, including substance use, overworking, self-harm, suicidal ideations, hypersexuality, and other risky behaviors. Even maladaptive coping skills are part of the brain's effort to protect us from the discomfort that comes with mental health symptoms. My goal is to empower clients to take control and manage these symptoms independently. I assist clients in gaining insight into their difficulties and how they experience mental health symptoms in their lives. I provide psychoeducation to help achieve this insight and then work toward developing concrete coping skills to manage the symptoms. Together, we will identify short-term and long-term goals that you hope to achieve in therapy, and I will ensure we stay on track toward those goals. Through accomplishing these goals, clients increase their emotional intelligence and resilience as they manage day-to-day stressors. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have worked for years in forensic settings, including the state hospital system and county jail system, working with adult offenders. I am structured in my approach and committed to seeing progress for my clients as they take on the challenge of self-improvement. My clinical orientation is in trauma work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I aim to assist clients with identifying the root of any symptoms they may be experiencing. It is not enough to simply talk about the issues, so I assist clients with developing concrete skills they can practice to manage their symptoms independently without being reliant on medications. My goal is to empower the client to take control of their mental wellbeing through skill development and practice these skills in between sessions. Our goals will be ongoing and adjusted throughout our time together to ensure the client is always feeling they are making progress and moving forward in their treatment.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
