Depending on the situation, we can use breath work, guided imagery, somatic work, exposure therapy, and yes, even the dreaded journaling. My approach I use the framework of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide discussions to help rethink our situations, see our beliefs, and move forward with valued action. ACT is a particular modality that helps us experience life in a more accepting manner, rather than pushing it away. Although this sounds counterintuitive, leaning into the pain helps lessen the pain. My focus Helping clients with depression, grief, anxiety, and life adjustments has been the bulk of my work experience. As a therapist in community mental health, I was able to focus on trauma and addiction recovery, as well as facilitate men's groups. In private practice, helping you find peace with an unstable mood, trauma, addiction, anger, grief, or a life adjustment is part of the focus. My communication style My communication style is about conversations, and my first question will probably be "What would you like to talk about today?" I have practiced therapy via a manual and have no problem with a structured itinerary. Ideally, we will discuss where you are in the moment of your life that brought you into our session.
