Getting to know Jermesha Powell

You have made it to this point in your healing process! You may be overwhelmed with your daily responsibilities or struggling to achieve peace amid the chaos. Therapy is an opportunity for you to reflect on your experiences?both present and past?and determine how you would like to move forward. With a Master's in Social Work from the University of Central Florida, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a person-centered approach to work with both children and adults addressing concerns related to conduct, anxiety, and depression. Whether your triggers stem from work, parenting, or social interactions, I am here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. Let's work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

There is no pressure. You are not expected to completely expose yourself in the initial sessions. Take this time to build rapport and understand the therapeutic process. As you continue to engage, you will increase your understanding of triggers and patterns that contribute to unfavorable circumstances. You may have some innate coping skills in your toolbox- we can work together to identify these or we can explore new methods. Life will not be perfect at the end of your therapy experience, but it is our goal to ensure that you are more equipped to deal with the challenges that life has to offer.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
