Getting to know Jes Corey

I have been a licensed clinician in Maryland for approximately 14 years and have worked in the mental health field for over 18 years. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. Most recently, I have focused on providing services to firefighters, veterans, and their families. I am committed to continuing to support first responders—including police, firefighters, paramedics/EMTs, ER staff, dispatchers, and healthcare providers—and their families, recognizing that the stressors associated with these helping and emergency response professions impact not only the service providers but also those closest to them. Additionally, finding providers who understand the unique challenges of these professions can be difficult. I primarily use a client-responsive approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic methods such as dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, feminist therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and others. I strive to provide evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions and continually revise my approach as new information becomes available.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want my clients to feel supported and seen, regardless of age, lifestyle, or history. Treatment should recognize the various factors, internal and external, that affect one's sense of well-being and capability. I believe in ownership of our own flaws and strengths (which are sometimes the same thing!), seeking balance and insight every day.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
