Jess Samperio, LCSW

Jess Samperio, LCSW

Psychotherapist
IL
Welcome! (Bienvenido/a!). My name is Jess, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Bachelor's degree, Master's in Social Work, and Master's in Public Health from the University of Illinois, Chicago. I believe that every person has the right to be heard, to heal, and to grow. I approach therapy from a place of kindness and compassion, openness, and curiosity. My work with clients begins from a strengths-based place, ensuring that you are seen and understood, taking into account your inherent strengths as well as your areas for growth. I also believe that people are deeply impacted by the world around them; therefore, I focus my work with clients on identifying and unpacking oppressive forces in their lives. I am fluent in English and Spanish and have extensive experience providing therapy to children and adults in both languages. My goal is to create a safe space for you to explore any topic without feeling judged or censored. I understand that not everybody heals in the same way, which is why I use a variety of theoretical approaches in my work. Our conversations will be tailored to what works best for your healing and growth. I look forward to working alongside you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My work with clients is collaborative and fully transparent, or what I like to call "a real and genuine conversation with another human." This is a space where I am open to feedback and flexible exploring what works best for you. I like to focus our first sessions on boundary setting and understanding what each of our limits are, as to not to create any unintentional damage. Our first few sessions will be very conversational, and focused on collecting baseline data of symptoms to track progress of treatment.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
