Starting therapy—or starting over with a new therapist—can feel overwhelming. You might know something needs to change but have no idea where to start, or maybe you’re simply looking for someone you can actually feel comfortable talking to. Wherever you are, we can start there. Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy to teens and adults. I specialize in working with people navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD and executive functioning challenges, life transitions, identity and self-esteem, relationship concerns, trauma, stress, and emotional overwhelm. My background includes outpatient therapy, hospital-based behavioral health, crisis intervention, and higher levels of care, giving me experience supporting people through both everyday challenges and some of life’s more difficult moments. You don’t need to come to therapy with perfectly organized thoughts or know exactly what you want to talk about. Therapy with me feels like a real conversation—we’ll explore patterns with curiosity, laugh when it feels natural, celebrate the small wins, and find practical strategies that actually fit your life. I draw from CBT, ACT, mindfulness, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches, but I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I’ll meet you with compassion while also offering gentle accountability and challenging you when it can help you grow.

Getting to know Jessica Aston

Starting therapy—or starting over with a new therapist—can feel overwhelming. You might know something needs to change but have no idea where to start, or maybe you’re simply looking for someone you can actually feel comfortable talking to. My background includes outpatient therapy, hospital-based behavioral health, crisis intervention, and higher levels of care, giving me experience supporting people through both everyday challenges and some of life’s more difficult moments. What should a new client know about working with you?

You can come in with a list of things you’ve been thinking about, one thing that happened this week, or simply, “I have no idea what to talk about today.” We can start wherever you are. Therapy with me feels more like a real conversation than a clinical interview. I’m an active and engaged therapist, which means I won’t just sit back, nod, and leave you wondering what I’m thinking. I’ll ask questions, offer perspective, help you notice patterns and connections, and gently challenge you when it may help you see something differently. We’ll laugh when it feels natural, celebrate progress—even the small wins—and make space for the harder days, too. I also recognize that everyone’s brain works differently. Whether you’re navigating ADHD, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or simply trying to better understand yourself, we’ll work together to find strategies that fit your actual life rather than expecting you to fit into a one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is for therapy to be a space where you can take off the mask, exhale, and feel genuinely understood. We’ll balance compassion and self-understanding with practical tools, gentle accountability, and meaningful growth—helping you not only understand why you feel the way you do, but feel more confident navigating what comes next.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In a typical therapy session with me, we start by checking in on what’s been coming up for you lately—emotionally, mentally, and in daily life. From there, we slow things down and look at patterns: what triggered a reaction, what thoughts came up, how it felt in your body, and what you needed in that moment. I want therapy to feel collaborative, supportive, and practical, so sessions with me are a mix of insight and real-life tools. Depending on your needs, I may use trauma-informed therapy, CBT, DBT-informed skills, grounding techniques, mindfulness, self-compassion work, and emotion regulation strategies. We might explore how past experiences are affecting the present, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, practice coping skills in session, or build healthier ways to respond to stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or overwhelm. I also try to make space for honesty, curiosity, and even small wins—because therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or overly clinical to be meaningful. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more grounded, and leave sessions with something that feels useful in real life.
