Hi there! My name is Jessy Boon and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Colorado. I have 4 years of experience in the clinical mental health counseling field and have worked with individuals between the ages of 3 and 89 years old. Before becoming a clinical counselor, I worked as an elementary school counselor for 2.5 years in North Carolina and Colorado. I was born and raised in the Gainesville, VA area and I am excited to be able to call Virginia home again!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ issues, life transitions, and grief. I primarily work with children, adolescents, and young adults.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I utilize a variety of therapeutic orientations within my work to meet the needs of my clients. These may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), play therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed therapy. It is important to me to create a warm, welcoming environment where you will feel comfortable and heard. I meet you where you are and am dedicated to being real and authentic within our times together. I look forward to working with you!
