Getting to know Jessica Edmundson

I am a licensed therapist in the state of Ohio with 11 years of professional experience. I hold a Master?s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron. I have experience helping clients cope with addiction use disorders in both in-patient and out-patient settings, work through trauma and abuse, increase motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, address relationship problems, and develop skills needed to manage depression and anxiety. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. I offer a solutions-focused environment. I understand that when people come to me for help, they are looking to improve their lives in some way, and I am here to help them do that. I believe people must be met with empathy, compassion, and the safety it takes to open up and work through their barriers in life. Taking the first step to seek therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started! My hope is that together, we can explore skills to help you put your best foot forward and start feeling like the best version of yourself. Whether that includes processing and healing from your past or learning skills to be more present now, you're not alone. Once you book a session, I will begin the process of setting you up with Headway, which is the service I use to bill insurance. The goal is to complete onboarding before our scheduled session.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with clients who have experienced trauma and/or life experiences that have created barriers in living a happy and productive life. In our first session I will gather assessment information and we will spend same time getting to know each other better. Next, we will tailor your treatment plan around your personal goals and needs. Most clients share a quick improvement in overall wellbeing.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $150 for 55 minutes
Ongoing session: $150 for 55 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

I utilize Headway for all of my insurance billing. If you wish to see me through my private practice for a rate of $75 per 55 min session for individual therapy or $150 per 55 min session for couples therapy we will get you set up through Sessions Therapy. All of the details can be further explained through phone or by e-mail. The set up process is pretty quick and painless and I will personally help you through the entire process. Please be advised that I am only linseed in the State of Ohio.
