Jessica Kolar, LPC

Psychotherapist
1398 W Mayfield Rd, Ste 220, Arlington, TX
I believe that therapy is a place where change is truly possible. I see the therapeutic process as collaborative in nature. My role as a therapist is to support clients in making changes, no matter how big or small. I walk side by side with my clients, providing a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth and positive change. These aspects keep me inspired to continue this work and show up each day for my clients. In my therapeutic work, I gravitate toward modalities that are person-centered and strengths-based. I enjoy finding even the smallest strength in a client and helping to increase it over time. I feel this enhances the therapeutic relationship and creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to learn more about themselves. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of areas, including anxiety, depression, anger, substance use, self-esteem concerns, extensive trauma, attachment issues, parenting challenges, and relationship concerns. I am especially passionate about working with adolescents transitioning into adulthood. I earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of New Mexico, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide effective, compassionate care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs, Java and Kona. I like curling up with a good book, cooking and baking, and tending to my collection of houseplants.
