Hi there, I'm Jessica! Jessica Mix-Tesmer, Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a therapist specializing in trauma. I utilize EMDR and Parts and Memory Therapy to treat trauma. My approach I utilize EMDR and Parts and Memory Therapy to treat trauma, as well as other approaches to meet client needs. My focus I work with adults who need to process life struggles in the present or past to heal. My communication style I strive to create a safe environment that fosters acceptance and understanding of clients' experiences. My journey to mental healthcare I began my career as an elementary school teacher. I saw the struggles my students had and went back to get my master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and Child Counseling from the University of Phoenix. At the beginning of my therapy career, I worked specifically with children and trauma. As my career progressed, I now utilize specific techniques to treat trauma in adults. My goals for you I work with clients to set goals that are meaningful to them and look at ways to reach those goals together. My first session with you Our first session will be an assessment to begin getting to know what brought you to therapy. We will discuss the therapeutic relationship and answer any questions you may have.
