I’m Dr. J, and I’m here to listen and support you through whatever you are going through. Whether you need someone to talk to, a safe space to explore your thoughts, or help with coping strategies, I am here to help without judgment. Together, we can work through things at your own pace and help you reach your goals! My approach I draw from a variety of evidence-based counseling approaches to best support clients, depending on their needs and goals. Some common ones I use: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns that lead to unhelpful behaviors and emotions. By recognizing these patterns, we work to replace them with more balanced, realistic thoughts, improving mood and behaviors. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT): A form of cognitive therapy emphasizing challenging irrational beliefs. Emotional distress often stems from unrealistic beliefs; by reframing these, clients reduce suffering and develop more flexible, constructive thinking. Positive Psychology: Focuses on building strengths, fostering resilience, and increasing well-being. Instead of only addressing problems, we enhance positive life aspects like gratitude, optimism, and purpose to help clients thrive. Client-Centered Therapy: Developed by Carl Rogers, this approach values the therapeutic relationship as key to healing. I provide a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where clients feel understood and valued. I earned my EdD in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and hold a Master’s in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. These experiences have equipped me with a strong foundation to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.
