Getting to know Jieun Kang

My name is Jieun Kang (feel free to call me June). I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California, holding a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. I work with clients statewide via telehealth, specializing in anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and trauma. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, I help my clients work through emotional pain and achieve personal growth and self-love. My approach to therapy is client-centered and insight-oriented. While I often use CBT and Motivational Interviewing techniques, I tailor them to meet the unique needs of each client. I understand that life can present various difficulties, and I am passionate about providing support as my clients navigate their challenges. I am dedicated to offering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings and life choices and develop effective coping strategies to overcome obstacles. Through my practice, I have found that my style resonates well with adults seeking to better understand themselves and make healthier life choices. Sometimes depression, anxiety, stress, or past trauma can interfere with living life fully. I help clients process their thoughts and feelings so they can identify more beneficial perspectives and discover personal meaning and purpose. My communication style is open, honest, and accommodating. I believe empathy and acceptance are the foundation of our therapeutic journey together. I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, respect, and confidentiality. I chose to become a therapist because I want to help people facing challenges. I enjoy finding strengths in others and empowering them to grow.
