Jill Jackson, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi! My name is Jill Jackson. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master?s in Counseling from John F. Kennedy University. As a therapist, I hold a person?s experience and how it?s impacted by their context, including culture, age, language, gender, sexuality, religion, and other factors. I support people to think about how they make meaning from their experiences and use that meaning to move through and create the life they want. As partners in therapy, we will dive into understanding your story and making meaning of it over time. My approach I hold a holistic approach, considering and respecting the whole person. I reflect on what part of you needs to be seen, heard, understood, or challenged so you can move through life in the best way. This might involve talking about issues and using modalities like creative work, mindfulness, homework, or other means to help things move forward. I strive to be client-centered, a good listener, patient, and offer alternatives when words aren?t enough to capture what you feel inside. Sometimes the work is active, with planning and solutions needed. Other times, the story moves slowly, and we just need someone to sit with us while we figure out what?s going on inside. My focus I have worked in community mental health since 2007 as a therapist and in leadership. I?ve worked with children, young people, adults, and families. I help navigate places of difference including intersectionality, BIPOC, identity, life transitions, and parenting issues. These places of change can overlap with depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction, all of which can affect how we communicate.
