“Jill is the best therapist I've had. She is kind, attentive, intelligent, and makes me feel seen. With her use of EMDR I have been able to process a lot of memories that usually would hold me back and created a stronger view of myself. I'm not superman now by any means haha. But she has given me the tools to function normally and tackle whatever life throws. I can't thank her enough! <3”

Getting to know Jillana McCray

Hello and welcome! If you are reading this, you are probably someone who is struggling with something in your life. I am here to listen and help you work through whatever may be bothering you. I believe I am very caring, compassionate, and empowering, while also being honest and real with my clients. I was born and raised in Minnesota, where I practiced until very recently before moving to California. I have also spent a couple of years living and practicing in Upstate New York. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in social work, with my Master's in Clinical Social Work from the State University of New York, Albany. I have worked with a wide range of populations, from children as young as 4 years old to adults up to 55 years old, including individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ community, those with developmental disabilities, families, individuals, and couples. My passion is working with children and adults who have experienced trauma. That said, I have experience addressing a variety of challenges such as anger management, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, exploring healthy and unhealthy relationships, low self-esteem and self-confidence, parenting issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and blended families.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session is used to help me to get a better idea as to what is currently going on for you in your life, probably some of your personal history, and what you are wanting to work on in therapy. When there is time, I try to give space for any immediate assistance or suggestions you might need during the first session. After working with me for a while, you will notice deeper work typically being done in sessions, along with new tools for you to try outside of sessions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
