Joan Williams, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience assisting others to live their best life. Life circumstances can sometimes seem unmanageable. Allow me to use my expertise, compassion, and knowledge to help you find your way. You are not alone. Take that first step, and let's get through this together! My approach Providing care can be complex, as we all have our own experiences and history. No two people are the same. My approach to care is to find out who YOU are and how life circumstances effect YOU. Then we can develop a plan to focus on your strengths to help you cope with your situation. My focus My client focus is anyone and everyone who has a story to tell and a barrier to overcome. I've provided services to students in grades Kindergarten through 12, Teenagers, Young adults, Seniors, and Military Veterans. I've practiced in hospital settings, mental health facilities, school systems, and residential drug treatment programs. My communication style My communication style is participatory. This is your treatment, your session, and your participation and input guides me in the treatment I provide. My journey to mental healthcare I have experience with grief, loss, and overcoming personal and professional barriers. I would like to use what I've learned to help you in your life journey. My goals for you Reaching goals can seem out of reach for some. I can help you develop goals and take small steps to reach them in your suggested time frame. My first session with you In the first session, I would like us to get to know each other. It's normal to be nervous, but it will be a chance for us to set the foundation of the counseling sessions, and discuss your expectations.
