What should a new client know about working with you?

Adult individuals who are motivated to change are my focus. We work to meet your goals using a client centered foundation along with EMDR. I am a EMDR therapist with experience in other psychological theories we may use at times, including cognitive-behavioral therapy. I consider myself your teacher, your advocate, and coach, in addition to counselor. In the beginning, we decide if we are a good match to work together. The relationship we established is crucial for clients to succeed. We start where you are. Depending on the type of work we are doing, I am generally easy-going with a direct approach about things that we must accomplish. You receive my support and encouragement throughout your journey. We work. I assign homework at times, reading, skill practice, etc. Many of my clients have told me how my help has enabled them to change their lives. I care about my clients & am invested in the work we do. You run the passes until you reach the goal while I lead the cheers in good times and support you in times of trouble. You are not alone an abyss anymore. Eventually it no longer exists. I do not treat addictions treatment. My client base has at least one full year of abstinence from drugs & alcohol with no relapses before they are suitable for evaluation for to be EMDR. No exceptions. I do not treat personality disorders or severe mental illnesses that need a higher level of care. Clients often ask how long will EMDR take? The answer depends on your issues, your strengths and weaknesses,, goals & objectives & your motivational level. We live in an instance society, so it’s natural to ask those questions. It takes three months for the brain to start to heal. You might say it’s a slow train. However, EMDR is known to speed up the overall process of trauma and other issues. For example, instead of spending 3 to 5 years, going to therapy to deal with a childhood trauma issue, you may find that you are done in one to two years.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We talk. I listen. I learn about your goals & your history, family & environment. We create a plan tailored to you to resolve your issues & Put Your Life Back on Track.Your input & commitment to do the work to make changes are crucial to your success.
