Getting to know Jocelyn Acoff

Hi, I'm Jocelyn. Are you struggling to accomplish your life goals or feeling stuck? I offer confidential individual psychotherapy sessions to adults, young adults, and teens 13 or older who are dealing with anxiety, depression, psychotic mental health diagnoses, grief, and many other life challenges. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years, including 2 years in private practice. My experience spans working with clients in residential settings, corrections, rehabilitation, and community mental health. I have helped clients reconnect with themselves and improve their coping skills, and I also enjoy assisting clients in accessing needed resources. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lindenwood University. Therapy has helped me through difficult times in my own life, which is why being a mental health therapist is more than a profession to me-it's a passion. I offer day, some evening, and some weekend appointments because I understand how busy life can be. Let's make some changes together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

For the first session we will discuss in more detail what brings you to therapy. We will establish a plan for services and complete assessments if needed to help gather information. All sessions are confidential and judgement free.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
