Hi there, I'm Joe! My name is Joe Calhoun, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Tampa, Florida, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Florida State University. I work with teenagers and adults, specializing in treating addiction, anxiety, anger management, and relationship difficulties. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, REBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients meet their treatment goals. My approach I quickly build rapport with my clients by meeting them where they are and listening closely to understand them as unique individuals. This approach fosters a healthy and fulfilling therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported and equipped with the tools they need to resolve their life challenges and live more fulfilling lives. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teenagers and adults dealing with challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, anger, substance abuse, and difficulties coping with their past. I assist clients in building coping skills so they can move forward in their lives, no matter what they face. My communication style My communication style is calm, empathetic, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing their life challenges and struggles with me. I am non-judgmental and understanding, and I take pride in that. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because of my passion for helping those who are hurting or struggling with their life circumstances. I understand that no one is perfect and that everyone can benefit from help and guidance. I enjoy being that helping hand when a person needs it-that is what drives me.
