John Charles Barnett, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Let me begin by saying that I am honored that you are reading my biography! It wasn’t so long ago that I was trying to muster up the courage to see a counselor myself. The counseling process changed my life and ultimately inspired me to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and to pursue additional training as a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). I earned both a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Divinity from Gardner-Webb University. My background includes working in acute psychiatric care, assessment and diagnosis, and psychotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. It is a privilege to work with those who struggle with some of life’s greatest challenges and have the greatest respect for the courage and hard work that is often required to engage in the therapeutic process. I consider myself a “tour guide” and often use cognitive-behavioral, EMDR, client-centered and/or solution-focused orientations to help you navigate through some of life’s toughest experiences. If a different approach is required, I will work hard to find the therapeutic approach that works best for you in the situation(s) that may be pressing all around you. Thanks again for taking the time to read more about me. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
