My name is John Choquette, and I earned a Master's Degree in Social Work from UAlbany ETEC Building in 2006. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I am a good listener, but I am also very interactive with clients, offering many tools and homework assignments to aid in symptom reduction. My approach I am very interactive with my clients and primarily employ Evidence-Based Practice methods rooted in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also use Motivational Interviewing when indicated. My focus I have over 17 years of experience as an outpatient therapist. I specialize in working with adults, teens, and tweens, treating anxiety, depression, bipolar depression, grief and loss issues, addictions/dual diagnosis, and anger management difficulties. I make it a priority to schedule new clients within about a week once a request for services has been made. I also provide treatment for behavioral problems, adjustment issues, self-esteem issues, spirituality, divorce recovery, and support for individuals struggling with relationship issues. My communication style I provide an environment that is calm, safe, and accepting for my clients. Many clients feel more calm and relaxed following their sessions. My journey to mental healthcare I wanted a career where I could help improve the quality of life for my clients. I am driven by the joy of helping clients think and feel better.
