Hi there, I'm John! I am licensed in California with 5 years of professional work experience. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths to assist you in overcoming challenges. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage, and I am here to support you in that process. My approach I tend to use a warm and laid-back approach, drawing from Adlerian, multicultural, person-centered, narrative therapy, and trauma-focused modalities. My true belief is that you are the author of your story and have the power to rewrite it as many times as you'd like! My focus I have experience working with individuals and couples who may be experiencing a variety of issues. I have worked within the criminal justice system and with struggles related to self-esteem and confidence, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder, life transitions big or small, relationship issues, divorce, sexual issues, men's issues, transitional aged youth, cultural stress, depression, weight loss, suicidality, athletic performance, family issues, PTSD, and more. My communication style My goal is to offer a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can openly explore your feelings and challenges. You will be invited to share your experiences as I support you in opening up more and more. My journey to mental healthcare I started working with children and families on the Autism Spectrum just over 10 years ago as a Bachelor's level clinician. I earned my Bachelor's degree from California State University, East Bay, and continued my education by pursuing a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Golden Gate University because I wanted to give back to those in need.
