Starting therapy can feel like a big step with uncertainty. I do my best to make sure it is time well spent for you. You are the expert in you, and my hope is to guide you to where you want to be in your life. I specialize in working with individuals navigating symptoms of anxiety and depression, life transitions, concentration, anger management, substance use, self-esteem, work/ school performance, and/or managing relationships. My approach I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify and challenge thought patterns and give you the tools to confront difficult emotions and control behaviors. Mindfulness -based CBT is another aspect that I utilize in treatment. My focus I have experience working with individuals throughout the lifespan navigating various symptoms or challenges, with people from many different backgrounds. We will collaborate to construct goals and a plan to reach your goals or make improvements together. My communication style I am naturally calm and present and prioritize active listening and a comfortable place for you to share. I provide a non-judgmental and empathetic space for you and give clear constructive feedback. My journey to mental healthcare My journey towards becoming a therapist started out with an interest in helping others and philosophical questions about life and its challenges that people face. My own life experiences and innate curiosity led me to pursue a career. I continue to learn something from each person that I work with, and my hope is that you learn something helpful to carry with you too. My goals for you I believe therapy is collaboration, and I try to learn about the goals you have, your life experiences and perspectives, and come up with attainable goals, both short term and long term. My first session with you Our first session will be an opportunity to get to know one another and discuss your background and what led you to therapy.
