Joey Trine is a Board-Certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC-BC) a member of the Illinois Association of Adult Development and Aging (IAADA), and former program development chair for IAADA. She has more than 6 years of experience working with adults and seniors. She graduated with her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, with Chi Sigma Iota honors in 2018. In sessions, Joey utilizes an eclectic approach that includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic methods, Rogerian methods, emotionally-focused techniques, and dialectal behavior therapy (DBT). Joey recognizes that progress is not linear and focuses on a team-based approach to counseling. She promotes autonomy and “being one’s own expert.” Joey is enthusiastic about providing clients with tools that will assist them in the present and in the future.
