Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Joleene Watabe. I am a licensed professional clinical counselor based in Clovis, CA, working with clients throughout the state via Telehealth. I am also licensed in Utah and Ohio and can provide Telehealth services to clients in those states as well. I hold a Master's degree in Community Counseling from Xavier University. I am passionate about helping people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I work with adolescent and adult clients, specializing in trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and religious/spiritual concerns. I am LGBTQ+ friendly. My approach is collaborative. I believe counseling is a partnership where my role is to create a safe space for you to do the work you need and to help you understand the principles of healing. I want to empower you to better understand yourself and make choices that lead to the life you want. Your role is to be honest with yourself and open to exploring ways to improve your life. I tailor treatment to fit your unique needs, believing that you know what is best for you but may need support identifying what's blocking your healing. I use a customized blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy. This helps us explore your issues through the lens of your nervous system's responses, guiding us to develop the resources and coping skills you need for stability and confidence. I have found that my style and approach resonate well with young adults, middle-aged, and older adults navigating life transitions, grief, and trauma. These challenges often present as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or struggles with faith.
