Getting to know Jolie Ferguson

My work is based on a positive theoretical orientation which assumes that all individuals possess an innate desire for emotional and mental health. A person enters therapy with a strong wish, whether conscious or unconscious, to overcome obstacles and free themselves from constraints that are holding them back. I find that each individual needs a slightly different approach to accomplish these goals, so I make adjustments in technique for each specific case. I truly enjoy guiding my clients through this process and consider it a privilege to play such an important role in a person's life. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.

Very satisfied
My session was met with a tardy, distracted professional, balancing other tasks and multi-tasking (eating, dogs barking is one thing, but distracting pets in her home office is another) At the end of the session, I was told I "needed a diagnosis" (which was not only a first for me as a person who's done therapy regularly but also a person who's never been diagnosed by any medical professional) for insurance/billing purposes and was in turn charged for a psych evaluation, which now my insurance is disputing.
