Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in California. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with an undergrad in Social Work and Human Services and attained my Masters in Social Work- mental health-focused with a sub-concentration working with military families from the University of Southern California. I have been working within treatment centers as an individual and family therapist for the past five years after gaining my early experience serving homeless veterans within a non-profit organization. I have extensive experience working with adults experiencing persistent and severe mental health disorders and substance use disorders. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, paranoia, relationship issues, couples issues, communication issues, trauma, OCD, grief and loss, substance use, and personality disorders. I have also helped many clients who have experienced physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse. During my years of practice, I have identified the benefits of focusing on clients’ self-esteem in order to improve within themselves, specifically focusing on “the here and now”. I am highly trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which I have utilized within the individual, group, and family therapy sessions as well as solution-focused therapy and motivational therapy. My therapy style is warm and non-judgmental as I want all of my clients to feel they are in a safe environment when working with me. I believe in treating everyone as an individual and meeting my clients where they are mentally and emotionally during sessions. I also work with my clients in identifying their individual goals and completing their treatment plans in order to meet their unique and specific needs. In my work, I have always communicated to my clients that it takes a lot of courage to seek support in wanting to make a major life change.
