My name is Jose Luis Franco, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT #116291) with over 8 years of experience working in the mental health field, specifically with children experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development with a minor in Psychology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis on School-Based Family Counseling, both from California State University, Los Angeles. I am a first-generation Mexican-American and the oldest of three siblings, born and raised on the Eastside of Los Angeles in Boyle Heights, CA. My approach My therapeutic approach is motivated by the belief that it is important to connect with clients and provide them with a safe and comfortable environment as they navigate their journey toward healing and self-exploration of their own thoughts and feelings. My hope is that, working together, we will find strength and empowerment to address unresolved conflicts in all aspects of life. My focus The clients I typically work with range from 5 to 99 years of age, presenting with a variety of mental health concerns from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and other severe mental health conditions. My preferred clients are children, specifically ages 12 to 18, or young adults. My communication style Therapy can be beneficial for many reasons, but most importantly to provide support, guidance, strategies, and education that can improve our lives and motivate us to attain our personal and lifelong goals.
