Hi there, I'm Jose! I am a Texas-based Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Education in Counseling and a Doctorate from Lamar University. I have had the opportunity to work with teens on at-risk school campuses and adults in my private counseling practice. I pride myself on being understanding and honest and will be your biggest cheerleader as you navigate your way toward an abundant and prosperous lifestyle. My approach My approach to counseling is simple—seek answers from within. I strongly believe you already know how to "fix" your problems, but you may not know how to cope with them or make sense of the unknown. This is why it is important to partner with a counselor like me to gain an unbiased perspective. My focus I feel comfortable working with clients willing and ready to make positive changes, and I have a passion for working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, military service members, and relationship issues. My communication style I approach counseling in a serious but lighthearted manner. I tend to empower individuals while encouraging them to make the changes they want to make. My journey to mental healthcare I love helping people find their way. I live for “aha” moments and am encouraged by “I have never told anyone this” moments. My goals for you Goal setting is a personal endeavor. I am honored to help in this manner, but honesty and transparency will be required. My first session with you I want the client to be autonomous. Having said this, the client is encouraged to ask questions to feel comfortable with me. I want you to book a subsequent session, not feel pressured to book the time slot.
