Couples and individuals often talk to me when they start to realize something needs to change. Maybe you’ve been running from overwhelming feelings—grief, fear, anger, shame—and you’re starting to sense they need to be listened to. Maybe you’ve been chasing connection for a long time but only seem to get further from it. Or maybe you’re ready to stop hiding parts of yourself from the people you love, and you want to show up more fully. Whether you come alone or as partners, we can create a space to untangle the painful patterns that keep repeating in your relationships, including the one you have with yourself. My main training is in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based approach that helps people de-escalate painful cycles and build secure connection. I also draw from the Unified Protocol when a more structured, skill-building approach is helpful. Throughout our work, I’ll invite your feedback and make sure our work is supporting change in your life. Having lived in three countries before adulthood, I’ve struggled with my own identity and values. It was often in relationships across cultures, beliefs, and ways of living that I found resolution. If you are ready to begin this work, I would be honored to support you. You do not have to do this alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Typically, my clients and I take those increasingly overwhelming, difficult, or scary moments and slow them down. I try to cultivate compassion and honesty–-between us, within ourselves, and between partners--which often makes the most hopeless moments feel lighter and more approachable. I also aim to be responsive to your unique preferences, needs, and goals. In our work, we will aim to a new way of being. Couples stuck in fights will feel what is is like to matter to your partner and be cared for once more. Individuals stuck in shame, anxiety, anger, will feel what it is like to be free from that pain again. We will regularly check in to make sure those experiences are improving your well-being outside of therapy.
