Getting to know Joseph Virgil

As a compassionate and dedicated therapist with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver, I am deeply committed to fostering the emotional well-being and personal growth of individuals, children, families, and couples navigating the complexities of mental health challenges. I approach therapy with empathy, active listening, and an unwavering belief in each client's inherent strength and potential for healing. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. With a focus on building trust and a collaborative therapeutic relationship, I work to tailor treatment plans that address the unique needs of each person, whether managing stress, trauma, relationship dynamics, or mental health disorders. I strive to help my clients develop the tools they need to foster resilience, improve relationships, and achieve meaningful change, all while respecting their individual values and goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Everyone is an ideal client. I am here to help children, families, couples, and individuals from all walks of life. I believe in creating an environment where everyone feels heard and included. Not am I only there to be a listening ear and provide intervention, but to also have you as a co-pilot in your treatment. Collaboratively, we will decide on modalities of treatment. My approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma informed care, and mindfulness-based practices, to help clients manage symptoms, build coping strategies, and work toward lasting change. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, identify their strengths, and work toward lasting change. Over the years, I’ve guided individuals through life's challenges, whether it’s helping a child navigate emotional struggles, supporting adults through life transitions, or assisting couples in improving communication and connection. I understand that taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming. It’s natural to feel unsure or hesitant when reaching out for help, but please know that you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Whether you're struggling with stress, difficult emotions, past trauma, or just trying to make sense of where you are, I am here to assist. ***I am an LCSW and do not prescribe medications. I can provide referrals for medication management services.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, familial issues, and relationship issues. During our sessions, we will explore the issues and create a plan of action together. I'll be there to help you learn how to challenge your thoughts and feelings to achieve and maintain improvement.

More information on payments and coverage

I work with most major private insurances. I am not a contracted provider with Medicaid and Medicare, and not able to see clients with Medicaid and Medicare. I use Headway to store all client information and for billing services so I can focus more on client care. All documentation and insurance information will be required to be completed at least one hour before your scheduled appointment. Out of pocket prices are for individuals who are self-pay clients only. Co-pays and out of pockets rates differ based on insurance coverage.
