I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. As a Licensed Associate Counselor, I have gained extensive experience working in various settings and with different diagnoses, providing diverse therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs. My counseling journey began as a Case Manager for an outpatient Partial-Care Program, where I primarily facilitated group therapy, including psycho-education and processing groups for clients with diagnoses such as Mood and Personality disorders, as well as Schizophrenia. I then transitioned to providing individual therapy for a diverse population, including children, adolescents, and adults, at a non-profit community agency. There, I collaborated with skilled supervisors and clinicians to deliver comprehensive client care, utilizing treatment planning, assessment methods, and therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique goals.
When working with clients, I pride myself on establishing and developing therapeutic rapport above all else. I believe that empathic regard and supportive, non-judgmental reflection form the foundation of any counselor-client relationship. When nurtured, this foundation fosters growth and change aligned with clients' goals. I truly value providing clients with compassionate rapport and interaction that empower them to advocate for themselves. Therefore, I primarily gravitate toward a Person-Centered therapeutic perspective, while also drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My hobbies include playing Pokémon Go, watching movies and shows, gaming, traveling, trying new cuisines, and laughing. I enjoy both meeting new people and spending time with those close to me.
