OH
Hello, I'm Joy, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. I hold a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and have four years of experience working in a university setting counseling young adults, along with some experience in private practice. My training includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, polyvagal therapy, and shame-informed therapy, allowing me to offer a diverse range of therapeutic techniques tailored to your needs. I strongly believe that every individual is worthy of dignity and respect. My approach to therapy is person-centered and collaborative, meaning I work with you to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can process your thoughts and emotions. I strive to offer unconditional positive regard and provide helpful tools to cope with life's challenges, build awareness and knowledge of mental health concerns, and reshape negative patterns of thought and behavior. My specialties include treating depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, familial and relationship issues, trauma, grief, and a range of other issues. Whether you're dealing with ADHD, OCD, PTSD, or navigating life transitions, I am here to support you. I also offer perinatal support for pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns, and can help with stress, phobias, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, and spiritual concerns. Ultimately, my goal is to see you grow in meaningful ways, leading to increased acceptance and security in who you are, as well as a realistic vision for a hopeful future. Together, we can work on building successful relationships, healing from past wounds, and finding the resources you need to thrive. If you're ready to take the next step towards healing and personal growth, I invite you to reach out. Let's embark on this journey together.
