Psychotherapist
MD
Hello! I am so glad that you are here. I have over 12 years of clinical work experience and experience working with a variety of populations. After completing an undergraduate degree in Social Work, I completed my Masters of Social Work at the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2013. I have also completed a post graduate certificate in Childhood trauma. At this time, my primary practice areas are anxiety disorders, college students, young professionals, family of origin issues, adult children of alcoholics, parents of neurodivergent children, parenting small children, depression, phase of life and relationship issues, women’s issues, perinatal mental health and LGBTQ issues. I work with individuals of all genders over the age of 16. However, I am most passionate about working with women and the LGBTQ population. ***If you can not find a time that works with your schedule, please reach out to me, as I may have more availability than shown.*** NOTE: I prefer to schedule a consultation prior to the intake, in order to determine whether we are a good fit for each other. Occasionally, there are situations in which it is determined during the intake that we are not the right fit.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In therapy sessions, I will actively participate and provide you with useful tools to manage distress. Because my approach is client-centered, I will follow your lead during sessions. Early treatment focuses on rapport building, developing a therapeutic relationship and case conceptualization. I believe in the power of educating clients on a diagnosis, and the neuropsychological mechanisms contributing to symptoms. By the conclusion of treatment, my hope is that clients have been empowered to independently utilize coping skills when in distress.
