Judy is able to listen and help me think about what kind of options are available to me. That tends to be empowering rather than someone who emposes his/ her solutions on you. For me, when someone is scolding you or pushing their agenda it makes me feel more inept and powerless. New thoughts and behaviors are integrated when I am involved in problem- solving and my feelings can be validated. I already feel unvalidated so validating feelings while supporting new thinking is the most helpful.
