Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Julia! I'm Julia Beecher-Flad, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California. I've found that paying closer attention to your thoughts is key to understanding why you might not feel good emotionally or why you behave in ways that don’t align with who you want to be. I also believe examining early childhood experiences helps us understand the origins of coping and relationship habits that no longer serve you. I strive to help people reduce distressing feelings, replace unhelpful habits with adaptive ones, and improve connections with loved ones. I’m skilled in supporting those struggling with depression, stress, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, and parenting. My approach I use an eclectic approach, drawing from CBT, ACT, DBT, ERP, EMDR, trauma-focused/informed modalities, and attachment & family systems theories. I’m trained in evidence-based practices including MAP, Seeking Safety, Trauma-focused CBT, and Positive Parenting Program. I’m warm and strengths-based, and my practice welcomes all backgrounds and identities. My focus If you’re struggling with stress, perfectionism, low motivation, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, ADHD symptoms, major life changes, or parenting challenges, I can help. My communication style I’m strengths-focused, warm, and supportive. I’m genuinely curious about you and listen closely, remembering details well. I also like to joke around a bit. I love my job, and I hope it shows. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up in a divorced family where adults were often angry and upset. I felt like I didn’t matter and learned to be hypervigilant, focusing on others’ feelings and cues rather than my own gut and instincts.
