Getting to know Julia Kostin
I approach counseling from the belief that healing takes place within a caring and compassionate relational setting. My goal is to help clients through their change-making process using an empathetic, non-judgmental, yet realistic approach rooted in a positive therapeutic relationship. I am dedicated to a collaborative process that relieves suffering by building a therapeutic relationship focused on shared goals of connection and growth.
I offer flexible ways to promote healing, aiming to meet each client where they are in their process of change. This includes skill-building, psychoeducation, and both somatic and creative interventions. I believe creativity facilitates healing: art, music, writing, and more encourage connection between mind, body, and spirit. Somatic and body-based mindfulness also play a significant role in my clinical approach. Through these methods, my intention is to have clients’ needs and goals heard and met.
As a first-generation American, my cultural identity plays a tremendous role in who I am as an individual and clinician. Incorporating culture into therapy honors our unique backgrounds and allows for a stronger, more authentic connection. I also self-identify as a geek and love video games and board games. I bring these aspects into therapy to promote silliness, playfulness, and laughter—all to strengthen connection, safety, and authenticity in healing.
I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling, which has deeply informed my clinical approach.
It is an honor to walk alongside my clients in their healing journey. I show up honestly and truly, and I look forward to celebrating your successes through this sometimes difficult but ever-worth-it healing process.

During the LifeStance onboarding process, we will contact you to collect your payment card information. It’s our policy to collect this information and confirm that it is valid prior to your first appointment so that we can simplify the payment process upon completion of your appointment, especially in the case of a telehealth appointment where the traditional “check-out” process doesn’t occur.
