"Process the past so you can have room to bloom." Life is full of transitions, which can be challenging, but with the support of a compassionate therapist, I believe you can find your own unique strengths to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a registered art therapist who uses a systems- and solutions-focused approach to guide you through unique, tailored interventions that build insight into problematic patterns and explore solutions to enhance self-awareness, improve communication, and make progress through life's transitions. I am creative and incorporate art materials-such as drawing, painting, and journaling-into the therapeutic process to facilitate healing. I believe therapy is a dynamic, relational process involving collaboration and consistent positive support to provide a corrective emotional experience. I received my undergraduate degree in Fine Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. I specialize in working with family of origin issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, personality disorders, grief and loss, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, co-occurring disorders, family conflict, relational issues, domestic violence, and foster care/adoption. With over 15 years of clinical experience, I have worked with children, adolescents, transitional-age youth, and families in outpatient clinics, K-12 schools, domestic violence transitional shelters, children/adolescent group homes, and intensive community wraparound mental health programs. I combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness techniques to help you build resiliency and learn new coping skills to navigate life's journey.
