“Julia was great and made me feel heard and comfortable. I did not have a great experience with other therapists prior to today's session. I was so thankful that Julia showed compassion and allowed me to just unpack a lot of things after having not been to therapy for months. Truly thankful I found her! ”

Getting to know Julia Sandoval

Hi, I'm Julia Sandoval, LPC. My approach is straightforward with my clients-no time like the present! I am strongly skilled in analysis, client-centered, and listening/reflective skills. Much guidance will be given to help increase the quality of your life, accomplished by practicing a positive state of consciousness. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Webster University, Greenville, which has shaped my professional foundation. My theoretical approaches include Psychoanalysis, Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Grief Therapy, and Positive Psychology. I am well-versed in assisting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and have helped many clients process grief and trauma. I am easy to talk to and like to keep the atmosphere authentic and real so clients feel at ease. I am not a "textbook" type of therapist-there is no superficiality. My journey to therapy began early; even as a child, I envisioned myself meeting with others and hearing their stories. Though I didn't fully understand it then, it was clear I was destined to be a humanitarian. When setting goals, I focus on small accomplishments first, gradually working up to more challenging ones. The client always controls their level of comfort. In our first session, we'll establish what the process will look like and what to expect, give you a sense of my style, set the tone for our therapeutic alliance, initiate rapport, and identify your expectations from treatment.

Julia is an excellent therapist who truly listens to her patients and always provides great feedback and proactive solutions for the next time an issue arises.
Julia keeps good track with the things going on in my life and cares a lot about how I'm doing. She's super kind and encouraging in all aspects of my life. Julia also asks me to write goals and pushes me to do good.
Dr. Sandoval is always a joy to talk to, and is one you can always trust to listen and give legitimate and insightful feedback.
Julia is great on what she does. She listens and validates everything you have to say. She encourages you to do better and points out when you are doing good.
My time is always well spent with Julia. I feel I can say anything without judgment. Instead of focusing on weaknesses, she focuses only on my strengths. She provides me with concrete and research-based practices which I can implement daily. I have seen so much improvement in my mental wellness since working with her.
Julia, is very caring, she listens and gives great feedback for every situation/concern. Works with you to help achieve your goals, highly recommend her!
The progress that has been made mentally within myself can not be understated. With the help of Julia, I’ve learned many coping skills and just general mechanisms to deal with my anxiety and depression.
I was very excited to meet with Julie, I had waited for our appointment for almost a month. She had outstanding reviews and I was optimistic I'd finally found a provider that would work for me. Not even 10 minutes into our session she made a comment that was entirely uncalled for and it really took me by surprise... She seemed cold and standoffish toward me as if I was boring her. It was clear she was not listening to what I was saying as when she repeated things back to me, they were completely wrong or very vague and could've applied to anyone with a history of trauma. I felt defeated and sad that she cut our session short and told me she couldn't take me on as a client. I respect her decision, however, I think she could have worded it in a better way that didn't make me feel even worse about my situation... This is the kind of interaction that deters people from going to therapy or seeking help, the fear of this happening again will definitely haunt me.
